Leo,

I like the canvas over the forward facing windows. I was thinking of doing something similar as a cheaper alternative to having the windows gallsed over. Do you keep this on while underway? Looks nice. Thanks for the photo.

Mike , It has twin crusader 350's but I haven't been able to figure out the HP yet. The former owner had them rebuilt 3 years ago and he told me they were 220HP, but I'm having a hard time believing that,as the boat weighs 4000 lbs. more than my old one and the engines would be 10 HP less than overdue. However this boat cruises at 22 knts. at 2900 RPM My old boat would have to turn near 3500 RPM to do this speed, and the props are the same size 14x11, so I'm very inclined to think that they are 270 HP crusaders a much more common engine and it would account for the performance difference. The only thing on the whole boat taht I don't feel comfortable with is that the engines are raw water cooled,he has flushing systems installed for both engines and the run beautifully so I guess I'm going to become a convert to the raw water cooling system, for now anyway.
Dennis , the canvas over the forward windows is a very common thing around here. There's really no reason to have them as most all of them leak and since there's no lower helm it makes sense to do it that way. Besides in the summer that glass uncovered acts like a heat engine for the cabin. Maybe someday I'll have it glassed over the right way and take the windows out completely, but for now NO big projects, I just want to be able to use this boat for a while instead of working on it constantly. By the way I keep that canvas covering on all the time underway or docked.

Leo,

How about the transmission ratios that can make a big difference - in speed - Plus this is a different hull design than Overdue -

Mike - Very Happy

Terry, don't feel too envious, every once in awhile I look at it and can find a hundred things that need to be done, but thank goodness nothing major that will stop me from using her, just wish I would have gotten her a little earlier in the season so I could have run her a little more, it's still a little intimidating to me , it's a lot bigger than OVERDUE,I need an extension ladder to get up to the hardtop and she has 5 fuel tanks that I'm still having trouble figuring out the valve positions for so I don't run out of gas on one engine with 30 gals in the other,I guess by next summer I'll feel a little more comfortable with her.All I know right now is,there is alot more boat than just 3 feet ,between a28 and a 31.

Mike. it has the exact same transmissions as overdue. Velvet drive 71 C 1 to 1. The shafts are 1 1/4 same as the other and the props are 14x11 same again. This really has me stumped.
