I was debating whether to get my carbs rebuilt before the start of the season (as a precautionary measure). I had them both done last year, so probably don't need it. Started the boat on saturday and engines sounded great.

I'm now inclined to go with the "if it ain't broke" school of thought. However, I'd rather have the carbs out for a week now rather than half way through the summer.

What to do?

Shawn

Shawn,

The engines sound great. Take it for a run. If they run good, they ain't broke. If they ain't broke don't fix it. They may come back broke. How does that sound for philosophy. The way I look at it, If they run good, don't look for trouble and just enjoy the boat.

I hoping to go next weekend, so I'm going to leave them along.

Shawn,

That is what I would do. I pulled the exhaust manifolds on the Wahoo. All that I need is time to put the new manifolds on. I have been working every Saturday and a couple of hours OT almost every night. Now if the rain would stop for a few hours, I could finish.

I know what you mean. I just need to put some varish on the swim platform and I can go in. The weather just won't cooperate.

Good luck with the manifolds. As of now this weekend doesn't look too bad.

Shawn,

The weather forecast for our area as of this afternoon is: 40% chance of rain on Saturday. Sunday is supposed to be nice. Good Luck.
