Fishing had been slow, with a lot of throw back fluke/summer flounder. The small bluefish were a good diversion. The big break came for me on Wednesday, Aug. 19, just before the rain, from Bill. While chasing after the working birds to have some fun with the bluefish, we found weakfish under the blues. We jigged up 4, between 18"-22". There was just us and another center console with 3 anglers and we were fishing the edge of the feeding frenzy and a Bayliner cuddy with 4 dummies ran right into the center and disperesed the schools. The guys in the other boat started screaming at them. They apologized, yes, it actually happened in Jersey, and said that they just bought the boat. That was the end of that. This morning, Friday, 8/28, we left the dock at 5:30am, and scored with the weakies again. We had about 10, kept 4 and caught numerous blues. Hopefully they will be around for a while. We were back by 9:00am, before the rain from Danny.
