|
One of my chores last Sunday after fishing was to split firewood. Something I never do is to leave gas for a long time in my small engines. When I am done I always shut the fuel off and run the carb dry. Over the winter and summer, the fuel was left in the log splitter, because we had plans to split more. I serviced it the Sunday after Labor Day and it seemed to run fine. The hydraulics worked but no load was put on it. This Sunday, I topped off the tank and went to split wood. On the first log, it dropped rpms, spit and backfired, just ran lousey, with no power. That 6.5hp Honda, never gave me any problems. I shut the fuel off and ran the carb dry. I then added Startron to the tank, shook the machine, let it sit for a few minutes and started it up. The Honda ran like nothing happened and ran like that a cord of wood later. Now I know for sure that that product really works.

Good input! I have a couple of those Honda engines and yes they are the Energizer Bunny of small engines, they just keep going and going!
