The best way to store your rods is in the verticle position. I found a neat, orderly and economic way to store them in my garage. I used 1 1/2" PVC. I came up with this idea a number of years ago after having a section of pvc pipe left over from installing my sump pump. I cut the tubing about 10" long and drilled two, 3/16" holes inline about 2" from each end. I drilled the holes thru both sides. I then opened up the holes on the same side to 1/2". The purpose of the 1/2" holes is for access when installing them to the wall. I sanded smooth each end and dressed up the 1/2" holes for cosmetics. I mounted them to the wall using hollow wall anchors and #8 x 1 1/2" screws. I mounted them a few inches off the floor. I have added more since the original few. In fact they run the length of the 26' deep garage. Results: Neat Storage, No Tangles, Easy Access, Low Cost and a wife asking "When and where did you get all these fishing rods and how come you have so many?"
