Hello fellow pacemaker owners,

We recently traded our chris craft roamer in for a 1972 pacemaker 42 ft wood aft cabin, with fly bridge. We have began our "assessment" of "winter jobs" to get done and are starting to feel slightly "overwhelmed"...just going from a steel to a wooden hull has us worried...(have we gone mad???) Thank god for good friends! Since our purchase in late summer we have put more hours than the previous owner did in the last 3 years. We have noticed some problems with rotten windows (?'s and pics to follow in new year), we have replaced the canvas tops, and began peeling wallpaper (powder blue in color, yuck!) and sanding the beautiful wood.
Is there any one else in this area (south western ontario) that we can compare notes with?
We are not really sure how far we are going to restore it since we are a family who loves boating and doesnt want it sitting on blocks in the summer season.
We have lots of questions about original color, stablity of boat, common problems etc....to follow in the new year.....

Thanks

Dave & Belinda Cool

Welcome aboard! Dave & Belinda - Well sounds like you got yourself a winter project - There are many of us here that restore our boats and a few just restore pacemekers just for the pleasure of it - then move on to the next one - There is plenty of help here! IMHO you just need to take one project at time and work you way thru it - YES one of the bigger problems with older Pacemakers is window leakage - However there is a permanent fix - There are modern repalcement windows that reslove the issue once and for all! -

Hope to be hearing from you - Join in anytime!

Mike - Wink
