I have a 1974 Pacemaker 40 with starboard transmisiion slippage.
Has anyone replaced this transmission with a 1974 GM 350? Or, have you replaced the whole motor and transmission. If you replaced it what did you use?
Thanks.

Hi Pete, I have a 74 28 ft sportfish and I replaced the original 307's with 350 mercruisers. The trannys were rebuilt with a kit I got from ebasic power. Mine are the velvet drive 1:1 trannys. I saw one posted on ebay last week, dont know if its still there |

Allie....my 73 -30 has 350 crusaders and 1 to 1 velvet drives. This is a very common installation in the line. |

There is one thing bothering me about Allie's boat, he says it's a 40, I thought that the line of thinking back then was after 38 to put in diesels ?
Anyone have any thoughts, seems like a lot of boat to push with a pair of 350's. |
